Robert C. Hovis: After acquiring a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from NCSU, Robert joined the Engineering Department of Aetna Life and Casualty’s commercial insurance division.  In his eight years with Aetna, he conducted underwriting assessment surveys and assisted insureds with general safety programs, products liability claim defense, and compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.  He earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 1978 and is a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society.  Robert founded SSA with partner Robert F. (Bob) Bozart in 1979.

Robert F. (Bob) Bozart: Bob served with the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Warfare Division with duty on nuclear and diesel powered vessels.  He attended NCSU where he majored in electrical engineering.  Bob is a founding partner of SSA along with Robert Hovis.  He was with the commercial insurance division of Aetna Life and Casualty for 15 years.  This included the positions of Account Supervisor in National Accounts and Superintendent in the Engineering Department.
